If there is indeed a renewed trend in businesses moving their operations - due in part from the pandemic - one concern is whether or not this contributes to the emerging issue of "Wavering Corporate Allegiance." Particularly for those organizations moving out of the US, does this suggest more (future) pressure on national identity, and by extension, loyalty, to the US.
This is an underlying - if just low grade - concern for how and when the US can count on key industries and firms in an era of cross-spectrum and persistent competition on the global stage.
